Picture 1, about $5K

The room in picture 1, bought new where it makes sense and used where it does not. 10 items, one total.

The budget rule: one soft pot of about $5,000 for the whole house, no per-item caps. Each pick is judged on how close it looks and whether the price is fair.

The reference living room: cream boucle sectional, round travertine coffee table, jute rug, abstract canvas, brass arc lamp, classical bust on a black plinth, olive tree, and a black sputnik chandelier.
Picture 1, the reference.
